It is December, 1811. Somewhere in the Canadian Rockies a mountain man nestles down among the pines. With one more trap to set, he crosses a snowy path trodden with grizzly tracks. Working quietly and quickly, his long rifle never far from reach, he beds the cold steel firmly. Just as he blends snow across the trap, he is met by a set of glaring amber eyes. He is no longer alone.
